damn i feel musically inspired lately. in the last three/four days ive compiled a good four/five songs. so im excited. and a good word to use is modus operandi. it means "how i operate."
i just watched some good foreign films the other day. "My Life As a Dog" and "Umberto D." my life as a dog is a german film about a kid whose mom dies so he goes to live with his uncle. his whole life is about comparing horrible things to his horrible life so that he feels better about himself. i dont know, its just his modus operandi. it may sound bad, but it is a really great movie, check it out from the library or a video store near you.
umberto d. is one of my favorite movies of all time now. done in the age of black and white, its an italian film about a poor old man struggling to make ends meet. he lives in a rented room with his dog, and the whole movie is about the tradgedy of his later days. shitty landlady, no way to feed his dog, and a maid who is somewhat like his daughter is pregnant by some army man. this one is a funny one, but not the happiest. its sad because you see him struggling and not knowing what to do with himself.
good band of the day is the helio sequence. theyre tight.
