Look at the stars...
The plan for this past weekend was for Leandra and I to go camp out all night for stand-by tickets to SNL so we could see Coldplay. We didn't follow through on the plan - it was cold, we were tired, "lady issues" were going on, etc. Cut to watching SNL this weekend...
Coldplay played. Not once. Not twice. Not thrice. BUT FOUR TIMES!!! They played "Yellow." They played a version of "Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love" that only the audience could see - the network sinisterly let us hear three notes and then ended the program.
FOUR TIMES!!!
I don't think this has ever been done before - in the history of the show. FOUR TIMES!!! I think one reason for some of this was that Amy Poehler went into labor that day and they didn't have time to stick in a new sketch (Congrats Amy!!!) But even still, this was a huge slap in the face. I'm not saying that we would have even gotten tickets had we gone. I mean it was Coldplay for goodness sakes so I'm sure a lot of people wanted those tickets.
