Ok so I thought I'd start with a general overview of the first week I had here :)
The moment I arrived in Japan I had to go out and get stuff, which was incredibly hard cos I'd hardly slept in 4 days haha. I met loads of people within 10 minutes, which was crazy yet fun. It's taken me a while to get over the tired, bewildering introduction to Nisshin but I think I'm settling in now :3
Okonomiyaki times :3 rather cheap, with a drink bar included. I had yakisoba instead but you cook it all the same it seems :3
My favourite place so far, Izakaya :D they do a drink called Aoi ringo that is gorgeous. From 5 - 7 it's happy hour (even though it's 2 hours... I dunno) and the food they do is lovely. It's very Japanese haha and you gotta really shout 'SUMIMASEN!' as loud as possible until a chorus of 'HAIII!' is shouted back, I love it!
chicken, obviously haha, and mine was strips of octopus and spinach stuff.
birds eye view of the Nagoya University of Foreign Studies campus (or at least the smoking area lol). I still love it. I'll get some pics of the cafe soon because it's the best, but for now this is the best I have.
The International House. I live in a block of apartments called Proxy, where international students, Japanese students and private residents can live. I house is closer to the campus so it's more... associated with the uni I'd say. The only problem being that NO Japanese people are allowed in and visitors can only stay until 7. There's also a curfew at 11. The social area is huge though, so I'm jealous of that, but after a while of considering a move there, I decided against it.
It's also covered in wasps atm haha
Last but not least, the year group. It's big isn't it?!
The first week was full of stuff! Okonomiyaki, izakaya, apita (a shopping centre), purikura, 100 yen shops, welcome parties, clubs, shows, and more that I just can't remember right now! It was really full on!
I tried cooking for the first time in a while, and unfortunately something was wrong with my eggs (i think haha) and I've been throwing up etc all day. Some people are having fun in Proxy having been out and now being loud in rooms lol. I'm severely jealous! But I shall just have to wait until next time :(
It's weird not doing anything I think!
