I really love running, I have discovered. That's not true. I love the part after running. If it's really hot, and I've run a lot, I get really dizzy and light-headed and I feel almost drunk, and that is exciting. If it is really cold, my whole chest tingles and that feels great too. But no matter what the temperature, after a good set of sprints, I always get this clear, empty feeling in the bottom of my throat, where the chest starts. It reminds me of when I have a coughing cold, and I take medicine, and the medicine takes effect. It is like breathing for the first time.
Sometimes, I just need to breath, to feel alive, and running does that for me.
Lacrosse this year is so much fun. The new girls are really great and the returning girls, well, we just have this bond between us. I can't wait for an actual game because that's when the adrenaline kicks in and you don't even realize that you can sprint for 20 minutes straight no problem, and you are only thinking about one thing. It is a time of complete self. You can do things that you never thought you could and you are at peace.
Even if we suck as much as last year, I am going to have the time of my life.
Pooz.
