On Saturday night I went out to see a live performance by Beatallica, the mashup band that takes Beatles songs and metals them up with riffs and lyrics from Metallica songs: "And Justice For All My Loving" and "The Thing That Should Not Let It Be." They tore it up.
Also on the bill was the band "For Whom The Bell Joels"; similar idea, but it's the music of Billy Joel that's transformed into a sludgy sort-of-Metallica-like form. For some songs, like "Pressure", it was a good fit; for others, not so much.
So that got me thinking of other things where a classic-rock radio mainstay would be mashed up with a seminal metal band, and what would such bands be named? These are the ones I came up with:
Leppard Skynyrd
The Möotley Blües
System of a Donovan
Van Morrison-Halen
Steely Danzig
Queenthrax
You guys are clever, I bet you can think of some too.
