Dell: Gender fail

Jul 09, 2010 15:59

So today I received an e-mail offer from Dell (I bought a laptop from them last year).

Link to Dell's site

The offer is for one of their NEW! "Opi" Studio Laptops.

You get matching nail polish. The only colours are pink and cream.

The marketing slogan is "Customize your Dell laptop with your favourite OPI Nail Lacquer shade. Match your nails to your e-mails. It's a whole new accessory."

The colours are called - wait for it:

"Dear Santa"
"I'm not really a waitress"
"Kyoto pearl"
"Princesses rule!"
"Happy anniversary!"
"La-Pazitively hot!"

Those disbelieving me are free to click on the link up top!

I suggest they add the following colours:

"Don't worry about me, I won't threaten your masculinity!"
"Just a five-year-old girl inside - but don't worry, you're not a paedophile!"
"I'm not trying to break through the glass ceiling - it's unfeminine!"
"Yes, I'm sexually available, even if I say no!"

I don't think I'm in their target demographic. I'd want my laptop black, and to come with a free lightsaber. Or maybe a Viper mark IV.
