Too much TV, too little entertainment

We watched "Boys Don't Cry" this weekend. It was the second time I saw it and I didn't quite get it the first time. This time I was quite riveted though. It's a very interesting movie that could've easily bordered on a mundane made-for-tv drama. Some of the info in Ebert's review really made the whole thing congeal for me. I won't give away any spoilers, but it was, to me, a very well done re-telling of Brandon Teena's story. It was not quite a tribute, not a documentary, just a respectful retelling. Of course, I don't know Brandon Teena or his story personally, so I can only assume.....

Last weekend we went to a friend's birthday party and then to a bar with a bunch of people. Bethany danced and I sat at the table with the people who were too drunk to stand up or too reserved to dance. Then we rounded out the evening with some chocolate chip pancakes from IHOP.

This past Thursday we saw Mike Merryfield at The Funny Bone. He was worth the 2 drink minimum. We didn't do anything so interesting this weekend. But we did take a few good walks in this beautiful weather.

Next week I hope to check out a Tae Kwon Do place.

Today I had some hashbrown casserole. We'll see if I wake up in the morning or not.....
