There is always a choice.
If you are choosing to stay in a place that was a dump to begin with over your own safety then that's just plain dumb.Like I said before, I know that it wasn't expected to be as bad as it was, but even after MANDATORY evacuations, people stayed in their homes. That's where being stupid comes in. I don't care what I have in my house, if someone tells me there is a chance that I'm going to die if I don't get out of my house I'm leaving, and I'm leaving all my shit no matter how much or how little behind. Common sense tells a person to do that.

I'm not saying that people want to live in the ghetto, hell, I'm not trying to say that people aren't born into poverty or that it isn't hard to get out, I'm trying to say that you have to be retarded not to leave when a category four (which I believe is what it was when mandatory evacuations began, I could be wrong) is about to hit your home.

New Orleans in those areas still looks like a war zone, people still don't live there, and for that I feel a little bad for those people. The people that were smart and left and came back to nothing a year later, that's tough. The people that stayed and died? Strongest of the fittest in my opinion. I don't care if those people are black, white, chinese, or alien.
