upcoming shows...etc
i went to go see my old roomate this weekend in the cities. It was her birthday week, so i figured a visit was the least i could do. Went and saw Trampled By Turtles at First Ave (I was on the guest list, so it was free). It amazes me how many trustafarians can fit in one room. The turtles played well and it was nice to see local kids pack First Ave...but I think i prefer seeing them in a smaller less-crowded venue.
There will be some cool shows coming to the cities though...if i lived closer i'd check out: The Thermals 2/27 at Triple Rock, TV On The Radio 3/14 or 3/15 at First Ave, The Draft 3/19 at Triple Rock, The Locust 4/6 at Triple Rock, MC Lars 4/11 at Triple Rock, Rev Horton Heat 3/4 @ First Ave, Of Montreal 3/16 at First Ave, Sebadoh 3/19 at 400 Bar, RJD2 and Busdriver 4/21 at First Ave, and the show i'm almost defintely going to Explosions in the Sky and The Paper Chase 3/29 at First Ave.
if you're interested in car pooling to any of these shows...well, let me know. i spent my teen years going to 3 shows a month and now i get to one every three months, but i'm usually up for anything.
