strangely enough, if we were to place kant, and any other philosophy, into the noise scene...only nietzsche would rock out. but in all seriousness, your elaboration is quite delicate. what I try to avoid in all cases are the in-itself's of philosophy. however elegant a dialectic might be, it loses its utility as we personify the world around us. to treat art as anything but that which we've created seems to lead to a dead end....which is why I'm personally at a standstill, asking people with special and unique experiences (composers, artists, musicians, yourself, etc) what they do, and why. the real trick is the why. because in that why, we find what it takes to keep going.
this is relatively rough, but I'm going to email you something I wrote...a little ramble. I didn't go back and edit it, just a straight stream of consciousness typed straight into livejournal without checking for typos or whatnot. it's nothing analytical...more like one of nietzsche's self-cynical rants....but maybe you can suck something of the idea of what I'm doing out of that.
