1st shift ✖ voice

[ The voice is of a man, close to middle age; he sounds tired and more than a little pissed off, with a hint of confusion (though the confusion just seems to make him even more pissed off). Those who are familiar with Hank Pym, aka Yellowjacket, will recognize the voice as his. ]

This is Yellowjacket, does anyone read? Repeat, does anyone read?

I have asked that same question myself.

No. I am Caspian, the Tenth.

But I am well acquainted with them.

[ A serious voice. ]

The girl Lucy said you knew of some mutants here.

True?

Mutants? What is a mutant?

An most cases, a hyper-evolved homo sapien whose altered genetic structure results in super-human abilities.

You mean they can fly?

They can do all sorts of things. Magic. Teleportation. Lightning.

Sound familiar?

I know at least two people who can do that! Maybe three...or four...

The distinction between magic and aliens is very difficult to draw.

[ A poignant pause. ]

Depends on the alien.

Then all mutants are aliens but not all aliens are mutants?

There are some that retain natural abilities that can be likened to magical constructs. However, this can be argued to be semantics more than anything else.

I've heard of aliens who can absorb sunlight and reconstitute its solar energy into very powerful beams that they expel from their hands To an outside observer this can appear as magic. So the distinction cannot be so clearly drawn.

Well. All that considered...Lucy is right. I do know a mutant or two although I prefer to call them by their names. To me they are friends.

[ Yeah, somebody doesn't sound like Hank Pym anymore. Instead, he sounds like a seventeen year old kid who just got the surprise of his life. ]

Nevermind, I kinda just found the one that I was hoping to find.
