Having Just worked security and lost and foud at a large multi day event I am reminded of the importance  of contact information.

the simplest is a piece of paper with your name, and phone number, and perhaps an email address, and the same info for your emergency contact person. (I always put in 2 my partner and a good friend who doent live with us just in case) I dont put my address on them.

You can print out say 8 of these on one sheet of paper (use large font) and keep them in all sorts of places. Ye your wallet because thats the first place someone will look in an accident, but sadly if your wallet is stolen your SOL so keep this info in your purse, brief case, and coat/jacket pockets. IF you don't want to laminate, you can cover both sides with scotch tape to give it a bit of clear strength or slip it in to a zip top snack bag.

When I traveled much more than I do now I would print a sheet of return address sized labels and carry it with me, when I checked in to a hotel I would grab a business card and slap one of my labels on the back and keep it in my pocket. I have never needed it that way but I have shown the card to taxi drivers when I cant speak the language and got to my hotel that way.

I have never need this ID for a bad accident (I was awake the only one I was in) but I have had things returned to me, and better safe than sorry.
