going to the ER without insurance

any tips for making a non-insured visit to the ER?

i have a possible ear/sinus infection that's taken a turn for the worse, and am planning on having my husband take when he gets home in a couple of hours. all of the local walk-in clinics/urgent care centers that i called earlier in the day referred me to the ER due to prolonged hearing loss in my left ear, lack of balance, etc.
