Okay, I'm hoping there is someone else in this community who monitors their credit because I can't seem to figure this out!
I need to get a copy of my credit report. It's for my clearance to work in my field, so it CANNOT be online or printed from the internet, it needs to be a hard copy version sent directly from the bureau. I already got my once-a-year free reports, so I need to pay for one. I've tried ordering it on-line, but so far have been stonewalled because my info doesn't match the info they have on file. (I think because I think credit cards are evil and don't own one, and so there's nothing reporting address changes to the credit bureaus regularly... I know that equifax still has me listed as living at my mother's ex-address; a house she sold 5 years ago.) I keep getting told that I need to "enroll in triple advantage!" or some other stupid program before they can deal with me, but I'm not about to spend $12.95/month for something that should be $10! I can't manage to get a human being on the telephone for love OR money, and have been told several times to send a large pile of documentation in to the credit bureau, but can't find an actual customer service address to send it to.
Has anyone had to order a credit report before and not done it on-line? I can order the report from any of the bureaus, so is there one that is more reasonable or less headache-y than the others? Any other hints or tricks I'm missing, here? I'm seriously about to beat my own head in from frustration!
