Hi! I’ve been watching this community for a while, and have gotten some great tips, so I figure it’s time to get over my shyness, and post!
One way I save money, is with monthly rebate brochure from Walgreens. It’s called the EasySaver catalog, and every month they have a few items that are free after rebate. For instance, this month they have Goody’s, Aleve, Excedrin, Imodium, and a Butler Gum toothbrush all free after rebate. And if you watch the weekly flier, it’ll tell you when sale prices match up with other rebates, to get items free (last week I got a free Almay lip color).
However you have to be sure to send the rebate form and receipts in at the end of the month! I make sure not to use anything until I’ve sent it in, so I can return it if I forgot. (Walgreens is good about returns (WITH THE RECEIPT): I just tell them I forgot to send in the rebate!) If you lose the receipt, you’re screwed, and end up paying much too high of price for the item (yes, I’ve done that). So be careful!
When sending in the rebate, there is an option to get the money in the form of a Walgreens gift card with a 10% bonus. For me, that covers taxes and postage, and then I can use it for the output of more free-after-rebate stuff!
I’ve gotten toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoos, hair products, feminine products, school supplies, and more--all for free.
Oh, and you can check out the flier and rebate catalog on their website…yay, less paper waste!
I hope this helps!
