I've got a couple hours to kill in New York by myself. Any suggestions on some inexpensive stuff to do? I'm trying to stay away from just wandering into stores because I'm afraid I'll be tempted to blow money I don't really have on silly things.

if you are in central park or near it anyway, why not walk along 5th avenue? the window displays are quite nice. you could also check out rockfeller center and stop by and see whats going on on the today show. (if its still on, im not sure what time they stop filming out there)
times square is fun too.
what time do you have these 2 free hours? I'm not doing much today, we could meet somewhere and i could show you around (i live in washington heights..163 st)

definitely central park...the weather is supposed to be nice... fridays are generally free museum days (in the evening) but like someone above said, the price is only a suggestion, and if you go to the Met (81st street on the East side of central park) you could give $2 and they have to let you in, and you can easily spend hours there.
