tax advice
I don't really know how to word this, so if it doesn't make sense/needs more details let me know and I'll edit.
My husband and I have both just done our taxes on taxactonline.com, and he's run them through another program, and we have pretty much hit a wall. Somehow, I can get back $800, he can get back $2,000 but when we select married filing jointly, we only get $200 back. If we file married but separate, we OWE $2,000! Is that normal at all???
I work with a man whose second job is H&R Block, and he said there's no way for that to happen, but it's coming up that way every time. We really don't have the money to pay someone to do our taxes, but if I can't figure out what's going wrong, then we'll take them somewhere.
