Yes, those JCPenney coupons are a good deal. Sitting fees for JCPenney are $10/person usually. I think Sears has a similar fee. I've never had pictures done at WalMart so I don't know what their prices are, but you can probably get a package fairly cheap if you only want to pick one pose and only want a few pictures (though I'm not sure if their packages include 2 5x7s).

Thank you! I may have to wait and see, heh. The boyfriend gets here on the 15th, so i have no idea if he'll be anti-jet lagged by the 19th (when those expire)

So the sitting fee is going to be about 10-20 then?

Those are decent for Penny's but if you look, there are better one for 3.99 a sheet all the time. Everyone has coupons to avoid sitting fess so don't pay a sitting fee anywhere. No where is worth the sitting fee. We've had a good experience with Penny's as well as Picture People (and Picture People can print up your pictures within an hour.) There are coupons for both these place on their websites in magazine, or (if you're lazy like me) when you go to Penny's pick up one of their baby catalogs (our penny's has all the catalogs in the customer service center you walk through to get to the portrait studio) and there will be coupons in there. Keep in mind the wait for Penny's pictures is significant so if you can't get in there before the 19th, you might not even have your pictures by Christmas (another good point for Picture People.)
Biggest piece of advice, call a day or two in advance (maybe more) to make your appointment, because everyone is getting their Christmas pictures done at that time.

Oh, I'll totally be making an appointment, haha. How long of a wait will the penny's photos be? It'll be okay if they're not ready by xmas, I'll be giving him a few other things too, hehe. (...that wasn't as dirty as it came out to be, haha.)

I had photos done at Penney's today, and I was told they will be ready in seven to ten business days. Expect to wait up to two weeks, but they are frequently ready sooner, in my experience.

Personally, I like JC Penney's because they've always done such a nice job with my family and I end up with high quality pictures. But for that online coupon, the waived sitting fee is only for ONE person, and you have to pay for the other person...and the small print says it's 9.99 a person. After this coupon expires they'll probably post another one, so who knows, maybe you'll get a better deal with that one by the time you're ready to get the pictures. I usually hold out for a $3.99 per sheet coupon, too, but those may be hard to find so close to Christmas ( ... )

I was at Penney's today for photos, and I didn't get a sales pitch at all. I was there specifically for holiday cards, they took exactly the photos I wanted (the whole family, not each of us seperately and in various groups), and then I chose the pose and card style I wanted. I added some personalized text, paid them, and was on my way to dinner! No hassles at all.

Thank you so much! I haven't had my picture taken professionally (not counting my senior pictures) since I was a wee thing

I third Wal-Mart . . . you can get a boat load of pictures for under $10, and if you decide to get all of the extras, you can get like 2 sheets of every pose for less than $100. That's where we get my nephew's pictures done, and back when I was still in high school (before every Wal-Mart everywhere had a portrait studio built in and you had to wait for the guy to come set up inside between the shoes and the women's clothes every few months) that's where my mom always got my pictures done because they were a ton cheaper than anywhere else and she liked their quality.
