So there was this
eclipse, see, and we all know what that means. Sun goes bye bye. Even on Mars.
Still, he had to give the kid credit. Imprisonment on the light side of another planet was pretty creative. Good thing he and his friend were stupid enough to leave him unattended. He was sick of playing their 'out of sight, out of mind' game.
It didn't happen immediately, but whatever was going on lasted long enough for his strength to return to a point where he could break out of the prison they'd put him in and start heading back towards Earth. He was going to kill Kent for this, and his little Martian, too.
He really had no idea how long he'd been gone, but the Kent farm looked exactly the same as when he'd last seen it, just somehow quieter. A quick survey of the area didn't yield any relevant information; the truck was parked where it should be, but no one was home. Not that that meant anything. It's not like Kent needed the truck to get anywhere and there were plenty of places he could be.
That was fine. He could wait.
