Let me preface this with a warning of excessive sap.
A few minutes ago I was just finishing up one of the best books I have ever read, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. I was on the last page and a half, and was a bit dismayed that it was ending. You know how it goes with a good book ending. Well as I began the last page a song started playing from the TV in the next room over. And it just so happened to be a song that I really really like, and has meant something of a great deal of importance to me in the past. You know how sometimes a song just speaks to you at a certain point in your life and it always means something to you no matter how the circumstances have changed. Well it started playing, and I don't think I could have finished this book in a more satisfying way.
I may not put any stock in Christianity, but I have not thrown off faith all together. And it came at the perfect time. I really do think that it was the universe's way of patting me on the back and saying, "Here you go, kid." It came at the end of a very trying and draining weekend. So thank you. Thank you very much cosmos, or God, or who ever you may be.
