WSU fencing PWN3D at the Notre Dame dual meets this weekend, having wins over many schools (exact number will come later today). This weekend produce possibly my best individual record in my time with the team thus far. It was my first weekend fencing as the team's second, our former second having quit, and a lot of responsibility fell on me. I really stepped up and filled those shoes, though, and, along with our captain, lead the foil squad to a number of wins.

Despite being injured and told not to fence anymore in the 4th round after a girl from OSU clubbed me in the right hand and it swelled up to almost twice its original size, I gritted my teeth and went on to fence 4 more rounds that day. She entirely destroyed my grip. It took most of my effort just to be able to keep a hold on my foil. I was nearly in tears during some matches. I've never had an injury this bad in fencing before. The swelling has gone down a lot, though. But now my hand feels arthritic and the joints click. I'm hoping with a 2 day break from fencing, I'll be able to return to practice on Wednesday.

Anyway I and the WSU team were on a roll this weekend and overcame a number of challenges. Up next is the Midwest Championships.
