Before my meeting last night I went to Barnes and Noble and bought a book called the 30$ film school, for help with my recent short film obsession. I'm thinking if nothing else, it'll be a fine read. The guy that wrote it is a real indie snob, which I didn't realize when I bought it. Nonetheless, He's very sarcastic and hates a lot of hate-able garbage. So The first chapter or two has been fun. So far he's encouraged the reader to both steal and vandalize. And cheat the IRS. Good stuff for a "textboook." He also says that the VH1 behind the music on Motley Crue is the best documentary he's ever seen.
STeve Albini is mentioned on several occasions in the book, judging by the index. I haven't gotten to the section about him yet though.
In other news I was just upstairs recording a song on the computer and it started making noises that may or may not have been the devil speaking. The devil has spoken to me before on cool edit pro, but I always wrote it off to being stoned, a luxury which I have been without for quite a long time now. Either the machine needs an exorcism or a new hard drive. Or both. If waveforms start floating around the room and cut/pasting themselves to the electronic drums, then I'll know it isn't the hard drive.
I got nothing. Life is good and normal, creative and sober. I'm coming up on 9 months since I went into treatment. Sometimes it feels like 9 minutes, and at other times 9 years. But everybody goes through that.
