wow i am recumbent, or resting/idle (so says dictionary.com).
- had BANANA BREAD between geology and italian. w/ coffee, delicious
- picked up my social psych book from mail services (about as close to my dorm as dunkin donuts - i should attempt to frequent both more frequently... which i guess means ill have to order some stuff online, which at the moment is difficult w/ all of $0.61 in my bank account)
- work is gross
- its cold as balls but i had a snowday- IN COLLEGE! but i guess ive told the world about that already...
- i am out of peanut butter and going through withdrawal
- theres like a buttload of gangs at this school. one kept trying to get me to join cause im pretty handy w/ a bowstaff
- ive eaten eggplant the last 2 nights in a row for dinner. and i ask you: whats up w/ that? i dont even think i like eggplant. its growing on me though
- why doesnt sticky tack stick to brick walls? no, not cinderblock, the red kind that flakes off red powder onto sticky tack, rendering it un-sticky.
- ooh! i have an orange
- this sunday my cousin has a swim meet in medford so the fam is going to pick me up w/ all of my dirty laundry
- im going to my silkscreening class on monday and am very excited... not so much for leaving my dorm at 445 and getting back at 1045
- i enjoy complaining, almost as much as finding ways to waste time but not quite as much as sex and the city + popcorn
- i think that pretty much sums up life here in the bay state (i had to look that up, HAH but in the process i found some fun facts. dont ask why just refer to the previous bullet point about wasting time)
DID YOU KNOW The Tabby Cat (Felis familiaris) was made the official state cat in 1988, in response to the wishes of the schoolchildren of Massachusetts.
The Roxbury Puddingstone, sometimes called Roxbury Conglomerate, became the state rock in 1983. (i only mention this b/c we talked about it in geology today and rocks are cool!) (just dont confuse it w/ the state historical rock) (or the state explorer rock or the state building rock and monument stone)
oh yes, there is a state polka song: On October 1, 1998, "Say Hello to Someone From Massachusetts" by Lenny Gomulka was approved as the official polka of the Commonwealth.
make way for ducklings is the official state childrens book (not as good as where the wild things are)
"Cultivated plants and the colloquial names for them change over the centuries, but in 1993 the legislature finally determined that the Navy Bean had been the original bean in the famous and venerable Boston Baked Bean recipe." ('tis a venerable bean dish indeed)
and FINALLY:
A fifth-grade class on the North Shore adopted the cause of making the Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) the official berry of the state. Their two years of lobbying, petitions, and hearings were finally rewarded in July of 1994.
obviously i feel compelled to accomplish something if fifth-graders can petition for the cranberry for 2 years...
um, this is a really long post
