The following day went as usual. Yutaka awoke in his bed with his fiancé by his side asleep, looking like the angel he knew she was. He slid out of bed to have a quick shower before dressing and heading off to work. Following the same routine, Yutaka and Akira met up in front of headquarters, chatting a bit about the night before though Yutaka obviously steered away from what really happened. He was feeling a little better today, though he did not know why and at this point didn’t care to know. They both went inside where they proceeded to talk with their Captain who reminded them that while they were out, they needed speak to the woman that had given them the tip to see what else she knew.

Akira glared Yutaka’s way, knowing he was not going to like this. Spending an extended amount of time with old people did not sit well with him. But under the circumstance, he had no choice. Before their discussion was done, Captain Nishimura also snuck in there that due to some unforeseen events, their warrant that they possibly may need, would not be available until the following day, so they'd better be damn sure they had the right guys. Almost instantly it felt like the weight of the world was set on the Akira's shoulders. Damn warrants. Biting the bullet, he shrugged before turning and leaving the office, heading out to his car with Yutaka close behind him.

~
Akira rubbed his nose as he watched a petite old woman waddle across her living room, carrying a silver tray that held her favorite tea set. He pulled a notepad from his jacket pocket, along with a pen and clicked the bottom to begin writing. Yutaka sat with his hands on his lap, beaming the biggest fake smile that he could, dimples set deep, eying the cup of green tea that was set in front of him on a nice floral saucer.

“Thank you Yoshimura-san.” Yutaka said, lifting the matching cup to his mouth.

“Call me Mika. There‘s no need for honorifics.” The old woman said as she placed a cup in front of Akira, not seeing the uncomfortable look in his face. “Even though I’m old, I don’t want to feel old. I can get around on my own just fine and I don’t need a baby sitter, something my son apparently thinks I need. I’ve had to turn away 6 people he has sent here to do that, ‘live in nurse’ thing they’ve got going on. I tell ya, he thinks since I’m 85 I should start preparing for when my geriatric age starts to set in.” The woman laughed a little to herself and sat down in her floral armchair. She shook her head slightly and looked back up to the detectives who were doing all they could to not let her know they really didn’t want to hear what she had to say other than what they came there for. “Well I say he can kiss my old, wrinkled ass.”

“Um, mam,” Akira chimed in, not wanting to see this old woman have a heart attack because she got herself steamed. Plus, he didn’t know how much longer he could stand being in a house that just reeked of old age and lemons, but before he could say anything more, Mika held her hand up, smiling sadly and adjusting herself in her chair.

“Yes, I know. You came here to talk about those people across the way.”

“Yes mam,” Yutaka said, taking a sip of his tea, his eyes quickly glancing around, noticing all the family photos and porcelain trinkets decorating the home. “If there is any more information you could give us, we would greatly appreciate it.”

“Well, as I said when I spoke to Detective Suzuki, I’ve seen those three coming and going at hours that I know even a Yakuza boss would be resting.” She paused for a moment, brushing a stray grey hair behind her ear. The sounds of Akira‘s pen scratching across the paper audible in the silence. “Sure I should also be asleep during those times, but, sleep isn’t something I get much of lately since I’m on these new meds that make me go to the restroom more often and..”

“So you say they’re out mostly at night?” Akira interrupted once again, receiving a scolding look from Yutaka that he unashamedly ignored. He had no interest in anything other than the case and he most certainly did not want to know where that dialog was going.

“Only at night.” She corrected, glancing Akira’s way, “I don’t believe I’ve ever seen them leave that house during the day. Well..” Mika’s eyes drifted to the floor in thought, then quickly met Akira’s again, “a few times I have seen the small one leave during the day, but that happens once in a blue moon.” She then chuckled some, placing her fingers lightly between her eyes and pinching the skin between her nose, “That wasn’t supposed to be a pun.”

“Yeah, we know.” Yutaka sighed, crossing his leg at the knees, “Have you seen anyone go over there?”

“No.”

“Have they brought anyone home?” Akira questioned. "And how are you able to see them with it being dark and all?"

“Not by my knowledge and if they had, I’ve never seen them.” Mika responded, reaching to the coffee table in front of her to grab her cup of tea for a quick sip, “Did you forget, Detective? I'm a nosy old woman, so of course I have the proper 'gear' to help me see." Chuckling a bit, she set back in her seat, sighing, "They’re pretty enough so I assume they may have had company, but I have never laid eyes on anyone that has gone into that house. It is strange, but you may take me for a crazy old coot when I say this - if you don’t think it already, Suzuki san, but... oddly, I hope no one ever goes to that house. I have a strange feeling about them. Even more so now that I know they are men and not women. The little one looked like a man, well, boy, but still those other two.. Especially the blond-ish one.”

Yutaka tensed up a bit at the mention of the light haired man he knew as Uruha. He really hated that he had to think about him again. Thankfully, there were no perverted thoughts or hallucinations that went along with them. Somehow, he had managed to forget about the mysterious man, making his second round of love making with his fiancé a lot more enjoyable than the first. At this point, Yutaka believed that his issue over the past few weeks had to be built-up stress and all he needed to do was release it. But still, as he sat there, staring at the woman across from him as she spoke, there was this feeling that he couldn’t explain, but he fought against it. No ruining my day.

Akira on the other hand, felt a flame of victory burning in his chest. In his mind, he was moments away from taking those guys in and seconds away from hearing a judge sentence all three to death row. He already had his plans set out in his head, even already had the seat he wanted to sit in the day they lethally injected that short, mop-headed bastard. It was perfect. Akira knew there was no point in staking out the place. It was plain obvious that they lived there. Just the fact that the woman even mentioned she felt something strange about the house was enough evidence for Akira to just walk in there without a warrant and get them. Unfortunately, he had to play by the book or else everything could fall through and he surely did not want that to happen.

After taking down a few more unneeded notes, Akira stood to his feet, followed by Yutaka and bid the old woman farewell.

“You’ve been a great help,” Yutaka said with a smile as he gave the woman a slight bow and exited her home. Akira repeated the action and followed up with a ‘we’ll be in touch should we have anything else to ask.’ The old woman returned their bows and waved goodbye as the two men walked to their car.

“So what do you think?” Yutaka said as he went around to the passenger side and opened his door.

“I think…. I'm pretty damn hungry and fucking glad I'm out of that house.” Akira chuckled some, opening his door as well to sit inside and starting the engine.

“You don’t think it's odd that they come out at night?” Yutaka questioned, sitting down before closing the door and buckling his seat belt.

“So they don’t want to come out in the day. Big deal. You heard the woman; they look like chicks. Most chicks don’t want to get darker.” the blond resolved, pulling out of the driveway. Yutaka gave a slow nod, agreeing that that could be a good possibility. Though, looking back on everything that had happened so far, he doubted the seemingly harmless excuse was the actual reason.

Leaning back in his seat, Yutaka took out a cigarette and lit it, inhaling the toxic fumes deep before blowing it out. They were at the end of their case and he knew it. There was no turning back now. They had to get these guys.. no.. They were GOING to get these guys. Even if it took every fiber of their being, every ounce of their energy to make it happen, they would.

"Alright .. food.." Yutaka said. Clapping his hands together and giving them a good rub as the cigarette dangled between his lips.

"Ah, now that's the Yu that I know!" Akira said in a guttural tone. Turning the car around, they both gave a good long look at the house across the street. The house belonging to the suspects that they had been after for so long. Yutaka shivered a little, hair on the back of his neck sticking up a bit as the thought of coming in contact with Uruha again flashed in his mind. Akira on the other hand felt nothing but a ball of confidence in his chest. In his heart, he just knew.. Knew that they'd capture these people and be able to freely move on to their other cases knowing that these scum were off the streets and not adding to the body count anymore. Exaggerating an inhale, as if he had already cuffed the three fugitives, Akira slapped Yutaka's shoulder and grinned, "McDonalds it is!! My treat!"

"That isn't exactly what I had in mind." the brunette replied, rubbing his shoulder while his partner laughed.

"I hope you don't think we're going to that Spanish place to eat. I don't think my stomach can take any more of it."

"Haha.. Actually no." suppressing a grin as the car began to move down the road, "My thoughts were actually set on something more traditional, but hell at this point, I'll take anything so Mc D's it is!"

~

The hours drifted on. The sun slowly moved across the sky. Shadows growing longer and longer as the golden orb neared the horizon. Supernatural flesh twitched and trembled as honey eyes began to move in their sockets. Proof that their owner was becoming alert and awakening from his comatose state of slumber. Surprisingly on this evening, it was not just the natural urge to wake up that helped the young Vampire reach this state. His senses had long since registered his human prey was nearby, but the sun was still out which meant Uruha had to stay where he was and wait until dusk. That time had finally arrived and as pale lids fluttered open, he smiled as he stretched his appendages. Rolling to the right a bit, he took a glance at his lover, Ruki, who appeared to be sleeping still. To human eyes that would be the case, but Uruha was not human and he knew that Ruki was indeed awake.

"Evening.." Uruha said softly, lazily placing his arm across Ruki's waist. The elder vampire responded with a slight turn of the corner of his lips, giving a shadow of a smile. Uruha sighed a bit, closing his eyes some, taking in the remaining minutes that they had to relax before the night had officially come.

"You're so calm.." Ruki suddenly said, eyes still closed as he listened to Uruha's breathing turn in such a way that he could almost invasion the smile on his face, "Normally you'd be ready to pounce."

"Well I am.." the younger replied, moving a bit closer to the other, wrapping his leg around his, "but it seems he won't be going anywhere for the time being. He's been out there all day." Grinning now, Uruha stifled a chuckle as he leaned to the brunette's ear, "Waiting for me~." Though Uruha's meaning was in a totally different direction than Yutaka's true intent. He was correct. From the time Akira and Yutaka returned with their lunch and drinks, they had been sitting in their car. Watching and waiting for anyone to leave the house or even just a slight inkling that someone was even inside of the home. Ruki finally opened his eyes. Blue orbs glowing in the dimming light, finding his young lover.

"You still have to wait.." He placed his palm against the other's porcelain skin. Smoothing his hand over it, pulling him closer and pressing their lips together. Uruha hummed at the feel of Ruki's lips against his own, a feeling he would never get tired of nor would ever replace for another. He then pulled away, giving a feign pout.

"But I've been a good boy and waited for so long~"

Ruki only laughed some, nodding in agreement as he sat up and swung his legs around the bedside, "You don't have long to wait. You and I both know why they are here. It's just only fair that we allow them to fuck up first before going after them." He then stood taking a step before he felt Uruha grab him by the arm. Laughing some more, Ruki turned slightly to see the other's bottom lip sticking out as far as he could push it, "Besides, remember Aoi said he'd get him for you. Why ruin the fun by opening your present early?" A scoff, followed by a hiss echoed from the other side of the bed as said man turned onto his stomach, placing a pillow over his head in an attempt to block out the chattering pair.

"Don’t remind me." Aoi simply said, tugging on the blanket to cover himself up more, "It's gonna be so much work and I really don’t want to do it now.." Of course, Aoi was only kidding around. He was just as anxious as Uruha was. It had been a while since they had played with a human. Each one had their own distinct scream. Their own plead for why they should be allowed to leave. Aoi enjoyed each and every excuse. Fueling his desire to tear into them one by one, but of course, Uruha would get first chance at it. After all, they were his toys and Aoi was just along for the fun. Uruha hung his head, letting go of the other's arm as he groaned, getting up from the bed as well.

"You're right…" he said, pouting while dragging his feet he moved to the stairs, taking one step at a time, heading for the door, "Plus I'm hungry. If I were to even try going for him I'd end up eating him without getting the chance to play." Chuckling, he placed his hand on the doorknob, turning it. The creaking sound of the wood and hinges echoed through the semi empty house. If there was anything, outside of women, that Uruha hated it was a toy breaking before he really had a chance to do anything. Such a travesty had only occurred a handful of times over the years. Mostly because their bodies could not handle what he had done to them, falling apart a day or so after playtime began to get fun. Uruha had since learned to pick his toys wisely. Sturdy mind and strong willed. That is what was needed in his 'play things' in order for them to last and he saw all of that in the police detective. Sighing heavily with a smile spreading across his face, Uruha walked into the hall, heading to the bathroom for a shower. Any time Kai….

~

Meanwhile, Akira and Yutaka sat somewhat quietly in their car that had not moved in what felt like eons. They had ran out of things to talk about hours ago and now only the sound of rustling bags and slight seating adjustments filled the small quarters. Eating the last bit of his long since dried French fries, Akira groaned as he swallowed them down. Each piece feeling as dry as the Mojave Desert. Picking up his cup, he sipped through the straw, hearing that god-awful sound you get when there's no liquid to sip up.

"Shit.." he cursed, angrily setting the cup back into its holder and taking a glance towards the alleged suspects' home, "I think that old woman is batshit nuts. No one is coming out of that house. Hell, there aren't even any fucking lights." grumbling more Akira looked around the seats, hoping he'd find something to help quench his steadily drying tongue, "Her fucking son needs to take her to the mental ward and not a old folks home. Shit I'll even pay for it." Yutaka snorted at his friend's ramblings, choking a bit as a tiny piece of chip that he had been snacking on, attempted to go down the wrong tube.

"Fuck, you can be a dick sometimes!" He laughed, coughing some more as he took a small flashlight from the glove compartment and switched it on to aid in the search.

"Tis' true.." Akira retorted, grabbing a jacket from the backseat and tossing it to the side, eyes lighting up at the sight of the box containing the drink he was in search of, "I'll be an even bigger one soon as we catch these fuckers." Reaching back, he took hold of the box and groaned at how light it felt. Without even having to peek inside, he knew there had only been one can left. Adjusting himself back into his chair properly he took a glance at Yutaka. Yutaka only tipped his head a bit, not understanding what the look was meant. "Well," Akira started, digging inside and taking the can out, "Either we share.. OR … Jan-ken-pon"

Yutaka groaned, snatching the can from the other, examining it a bit before shaking his head, "This can is too small to share between us both."

"I agree.." Akira replied, "Besides, who knows how long we'll be sitting out here."

"True. Though when put that way we should share."

"Like I want to sip on soda while waiting on these bitches. I want a full can!"

"Janken it is then" Kai chuckled, turning in his seat a bit and making a firm fist, "2 out of 3?"

"Yeah yeah.. Whatever.." Akira said, mirroring his partner's actions. Though Yutaka smiled as they started the game, inside his heart was pounding. It took all his might to keep from revealing his true worries to Akira. The day had been going so well and now, as they sat in their unmarked car, far enough from the home to not be considered suspicious, yet close enough to see if anyone emerges, he was beginning to think that this could be the end. That he would no longer get to play silly little games with his partner… his best friend anymore. That all of this work on digging up evidence and finding enough of it to nab these suspects was just a huge waste of time. Right now, he would rather be at home, playing this same game with Akira. Instead of the prize being a soda, it would be what TV show they should watch. As the fifth round ended, Yutaka's smile widened, pushing all of his fear to the back burner, so he could relish in his small victory over Akira.

"Ahhhh FUCK!" The other yelled while violently running his fingers through his own hair. Yutaka laughed more while opening the can, figuring he should offer just a bit of the soft drink to Akira anyway. Akira looked at the can as if it were the plague, glaring for a moment before giving the same stare to his friend.

"What!" Yutaka mumbled through laughs, "I'll let you have a sip"

"Fuck that.." Akira grumbled. Fumbling with the latch on his door, attempting to open it but failing miserably, "Only thing I sip is pu-"

"OK OK OK!" Yu cut in, taking a drink for himself, "I don't need to know what you and.. big boobs do."

Akira smirked, finally getting the door open and stumbling out of the car, "I gotta take a leak anyway. So you can have the soda." Not waiting for a comeback, Akira looked around for a nice hidden spot. Not like there is a scarcity of trees around, he thought, shutting the door and jogging to the closest one to do his business.

Shaking his head, Yutaka opened his drink and took in his first celebratory gulp. As the warm liquid trailed down his throat, a light in the distance flickered on through the darkness. Yutaka's senses didn’t waste any time reconnecting with reality and recalling the real reason they were sitting out in the middle of nowhere in the dark. Setting the can down as fast as he could, he looked towards the house, squinting for a moment to see if he could spot any movement. Because of their distance, Yutaka could barely see the silhouettes that seemed to glide behind the curtains of the home.

"Show time!" Akira unexpectedly said, startling the other detective making his heart jump into his throat.

"When the fuck did you get back in here?" Yutaka spat as he whipped his head around, clenching tightly to his seat, heart thudding faster than humanly possible while sneering at the cheesy grin spreading on his partner's face.

"Never mind that," smile quickly disappearing as he reached for his gun, checking the clip inside.

"We're here only to investigate. Remember that, Akira?" Yutaka sternly declared, turning his attention back to the house.

"I remember" he replied, sliding the clip back into the butt of the gun, "There's nothing wrong with being cautious." And there wasn't. Hell, they were cops keeping surveillance over a home that they believed to be filled with very dangerous men, so Akira had every right to take precaution. Yutaka knew better than to believe that excuse. They had been partners long enough to tell when the other was being serious or just flat out fucking lying. This was one of those times. A shiver ran down Yutaka's spine as he glanced over his shoulder to his anxious partner. Something told him this might be the last time they would ever be together like this; and that would be perfectly fine, if it were different circumstances.

~

Excitement rolled through Uruha's veins as he shrugged on a light jacket. His toy was just outside, sitting in the same place he had been all day long, waiting for him. Uruha could feel the fear coursing through Kai's body. He could sense how much the young detective hated being where he was and would like nothing more than to go home and forget everything. Uruha closed his eyes, breathing in deeply to relish in the moment for just a moment before they had to leave. As planned, the three vampires were to go out and claim their victim for the night. To feast on their blood so that once they had claimed Uruha's Kai, they wouldn’t tear into him on first glance because of the thirst. Aoi could sense how Uruha was feeling and placed his arm around the younger man's waist.

"You can hardly contain it, can you?" he smirked, trailing a finger against the vampire's strong jaw line. Uruha's honey colored eyes were like gold in the dim light. Shining brightly because of his enthusiasm.

"God! If Ruki-sama would only let me just go out there and… and.." but before he could finish, said vampire stood next to him, shaking his head with a smile on his face as he placed his hand on the doorknob.

"Eat first. Pleasure later.." Ruki then opened the door, grunting to himself as his supernatural orbs landed on the misplaced car in the distance. He remembered when he had warned the detective, Akira, that if he had continued with his efforts on capturing them, he would regret it. Maybe Akira figured he was just some random hoodlum making empty threats in hopes that he would be listened to so he could continue whatever it was he had been doing. In fact, Ruki was positive that was indeed the case, and now the foolish human has sealed not only his own, but his partner's fate as well. Finding out the nesting place of a vampire was a crime punishable by death, but Ruki had a better idea for the unfortunate man. Something he hadn't done in years.

"Yes yes," Aoi replied, giving a mock bow to their leader, "Food and then fun.. Though I think I'll have the best part in this little…. extraction, so to speak."

Stepping out onto the porch, the three creatures gazed around as if they could not see the car in the distance. Aoi kept his hold around Uruha's waist, whispering amongst each other what kind of fun things they could do with Kai. Uruha eyed the car when Aoi spoke, biting his lip suppressing a moan. He could see Kai in the car and could imagine everything that the other vampire was suggesting come to pass. Ruki didn’t bother to lock the door. He never worried about anyone stealing from them. That kind of thought process was something only humans cared about and besides, they had nothing worth any value inside the home to begin with.

"I think I will find myself a virgin. A female…" he commented aloud, mostly to himself as he moved down the front steps, curly hair pushed by the breeze. On a normal occasion, such a statement would earn a glare from his young fledgling, but Uruha's thoughts were not centered on him. Just like every other time the vampire captured himself a toy. Shoving his hands into his jean jacket, while the other two trailed behind him, a smirk tugged on Ruki's lips as he gazed in the car's direction one final time. In a few hours, their lives are going to come tumbling down and no one will be able to stop it.

~
Yutaka's heart began to speed up as the front door to the home opened. He spotted the young man they had been looking for right off the bat. He felt his skin crawl at the sight of him. His mind traveled back to that day, a day he tried so hard to forget. The day when said young man began to haunt his dreams. A shiver ran down Yutaka's spine, but he tried his best to hide it. These guys scared him. They were not normal people. Yu had no idea how he knew this, but it had been nagging at him since the case took that drastic turn. These men were not people you wanted to mess with. They were not guys you can shove a gun at and tell them that you're going to take them to a steel box and make them sit there until a jury of their peers says otherwise. He knew, these guys did whatever they wanted to do, WHENEVER they wanted and there was no stopping them.

Watching the men walk down the sidewalk, Yutaka felt his breathing hitch in his throat, eyes growing wide like marbles. They were looking at them. He could feel it. He saw the slight golden spark in the dark and knew those eyes belonged to him. Uruha. Yutaka pushed himself back from the window a bit, trying his best to look somewhere else but felt compelled to keep looking at the three.

"A….. Aki.. They.. they're looking.." He whispered absentmindedly. Why he felt the need to whisper, he had no idea, but he figured if they could see them, even though it were completely dark, then he was sure they could hear them. Even if he had no proof.

Akira wasn't paying much attention to Yutaka. His sights were set on a certain stringy haired man. His thumb rubbed on the back of the gun as he watched them carelessly move through the night. His thoughts traveled back to his own embarrassing experience. Remembering how the short brunette threatened to violate him in ways he would never allow any man to attempt. Akira's blood began to boil and he then started to think maybe this time it would be ok to go against the rules. Only a little. Who knows when they would get another opportunity like this? He could see that clearly these were their perps. So really, what was the point of having to come back? Reaching back slowly he grabbed onto the door handle and pulled it. The click of the metal pieces inside jarred Yutaka out of his trance and he quickly shot his attention to his partner who had began to ease out of the car.

"What the fuck…… WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING??" Yutaka all but yelled, reaching over to grab Akira's pant leg, tugging hard to get him back in the car.

"If we do this now we can save all the trouble of having to come back," Akira grunted, shaking his leg to shove his friend off. He did not want to wait until the next day to come back. Who's to say that the perps would still be there? Maybe this was only a place they stayed at sometimes and they just got lucky and caught them on that night? Akira didn’t want to take the chance of losing them afterwards. They were there in their sights and completely unarmed; from what he could tell anyways. Why wait?

"We have to go by the book, Aki! We have to or else this shit will fall fucking through!" Yu hissed through his teeth, trying his best to keep quiet or else they would really have a problem on their hands.

"Well if it's the book you want, then call for backup. We could get this squared away tonight." One thing Yutaka hated about his friend was when he showed how bull headed he was. This was not the time to be Kamen Rider.

"The Captain said that he won't have a warrant until tomorrow!" he continued to tug, looking over his shoulder to glance at the other three. He saw the smaller man staring at them. They were up to something, but what that something was, he only wished that he knew. Then again, maybe he didn’t want to know. He turned back towards Akira, reaching up to hook a finger in his belt loop and pulled as hard as he could, tugging the impatient detective back inside. Yutaka then whipped his head back towards his window, only to be greeted by a bunch of trees and darkness. The three suspects that had been conversing near their home were no longer there. Yutaka's heart was now thundering loudly in his ears. His hands were shaking so bad he had to press them against his thighs to stop them. He didn’t care that his partner was looking at him as if he wanted to shoot him in the face. He didn’t even care if they ended up arguing all the way back to the station. What he did care about was getting home and rushing the hours by with a bit of sleep in hopes to end this nightmare once and for all; getting back to the 'normal' everyday criminals.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ride back into the city was just as Yutaka had expected. Akira ranted and raved about missing the chance of taking down the bad guys. Screaming out, 'Fuck the book!" every chance he could and that if the perps got away he would place full blame on him. He knew there was no point in trying to argue, yet he still said his piece, eventually coming to the conclusion that this was a pointless argument.  Yutaka only shrugged to the rest of Akira's statements ; the outcome could have been much worse. They soon arrived at the office and reported their findings. Afterwards, Yutaka said his goodbye's, even to his frustrated friend, knowing that he'd feel much better in the morning after everything had blown over and was done with. With one last grin and nod to a lingering work buddy, Yutaka left the building.
On the drive home, Yutaka turned on his music, trying desperately to forget those eyes that looked directly at him. Fuck what Akira had to say about it, he knew that those amber orbs were locked on him. He could feel it, like invisible hands stretched all the way from where he stood and caressed his whole body. Shivering, he reached down to a cigarette pack, sitting idly in a cup holder and fished one of the sticks out and placing it between his lips. All he needed was the comfort of the white cylinder to calm his nerves. Forget the fact that such a thing could kill him in the end, right now, Yutaka's only worry was the light haired man with the pretty brown eyes. As he patted down his pockets for his lighter, Yutaka came to a stop light and brought his car to a halt.
"Down the street and turn the corner and home free I am..." he mumbled, finding the lighter in his back pocket. Reaching back, the light turned green and he quickly pulled the object from its confinement, only to drop it seeing it slide between the armrest and the seat.
"Fuck~" He cursed, pushing his foot down on the gas slowly, cruising past the light while digging down for the lighter, "Come on.. Come on.... come ooonnnn.." but his fingers were trapped in a narrow spot and couldn't push any further. Cursing more, Yutaka removed his hand from between the seat and pushed the car's lighter into the socket, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of his favorite song, impatiently waiting on the lighter to pop out. His eyes gazed around to the familiar homes around him, mentally mapping the area and remembering how much further he had to go. He was ready to go home. To forget about playing cops and robbers for a moment and just be Yutaka Uke. A man with a happy life, a fiancé that loved him dearly and a wedding to plan. He may even decide to give her a call when he made it in, just to go over that since up until now he had left all of that work up to her.
"Yup... I'll do that.." He mumbled, rejoicing when the lighter popped out. For a moment, Yutaka took his eyes away from the road, grabbing the tiny object and placing the heated end against his cigarette. He sighed as the toxins entered his lungs, feeling his stress and anxiety peel away slowly, "Now all I need is to be..." However, before Yutaka could finish speaking, a loud sound of bending metal hit his ears. He jammed on his brakes hard, keeping his lips tight around the filter so that he would not drop the burning cancer stick in his lap, turning the wheel to keep himself from skidding off the road into someone's home. When the car came to a jerking stop, Yutaka could feel his heart beating in his neck, thumping harder and harder with each breath, knuckles white from gripping the wheel too tightly. Frightened, blinking his eyes quickly as they observed the cause of his little “traffic accident”. A person, male, with long, dark chocolate hair, was squatting on his hood, staring back at him with a wide smile and glowing brown eyes.
"Oi!" Aoi said, staring into the car. He reached forward, tapping the windshield with his index knuckle, "You're going the wrong way, Kai chan~". Just hearing that name made Yutaka grip the wheel harder causing his nails to dig into his palms. Blood oozed from the cuts, running down his wrists and dripping down to his pants. Aoi placed both of his hands on the windshield, leaning over more, breathing in deeply, as if he could smell the blood through the glass, “Uruha sure knows how to pick ‘em.” Licking his lips lewdly, he smiled even wider, showing off his fangs to the investigator in the car, “I can't wait to taste you, Kai.” Hearing the threat, Yutaka reached for his gun and pointed it at the Vampire, hands trembling and all.
“Get off the car and put your hands in the air where I can see them!” He shouted, swallowing hard when his cigarette fell from his lips. A normal person would be more afraid of the lit cylinder igniting their pants and setting them ablaze, but somehow Kai, knew that the being staring back at him was more of a threat than a few burning pieces of ash..
“You can see my hands,” Aoi responded, chuckling while each digit drummed against the glass.
“Get off the car and put your hands in the air!” Yutaka repeated, voice trembling a bit, wondering where in the world this guy came from and how the fuck he got onto the hood of his car. It did not make any sense at all. People just don’t fall out of the sky, unless…
“There’s no reason to be afraid, Kai." His voice had an annoyingly apologetic sound to it, with a face to match. Kind of like those parents that tell their daughters not to be scared 'it's only a worm. It won't kill you.' In Yutaka's case, this worm was probably his height, had a dangerous looking set of canines and has been proven to kill. Aoi appeared to have come to a resolve then. Shaking his head, features morphing into a sly grin, "Eh… who am I kidding? We're gonna have so much fun with you, you'll beg for death,” His smile then disappeared, connecting his thoughts with Yutaka’s, speaking although his lips never moved. Now, we can do this the easy way or we can add a bit of dramatics. Either or is fine with me… His expression then turned serious, brows knotting up, Get out of the car or I’ll rip this piece of shit to shreds and force you out.
Before this case, if you were to have asked Yutaka if he were superstitious and believed in all of the old folklore, he would have laughed in your face and told you how naive you were for even mentioning such a thing to him. Now, after having so many things happen in such a short amount of time, to have seen all the things he had seen, if asked the same question again, he would tell you yes. Yes, he believed in all the things that crept into your psyche and terrorized you as if you were a child afraid to go into their room at night. He believed that the shadow you swore was following you was in fact some kind of monster or ghoul because right now, as his finger pulled back on the trigger of his gun, firing off the clip of ammunition it held. The man on the hood of his car dodged every single bullet. And as the glass shattered, falling onto the front seats of the vehicle, a seemingly delicate hand reached forward and took hold of his safety belt. In an instant, the strap that was once securing him in, ripped at its corners as if it were paper tearing in a notebook. It all happened so quickly. He didn't even have time to take his next breath before he found himself being grabbing by the front of his shirt and plucked from his seat.
Chapter 9A_________
A/N: Its been a year and a half? since I've updated this story. Im sorry to all of those that have read this. To those that ended up deleting their account before finishing it. As I said in my last story, there were many things that played a part in me not finishing the story in an appropriate amount of time. Sorry about that. So this chapter is for those that are still around and still wanting to read. It's also for those that are just discovering my stories and possibly like them. Its also for those that dont like my stories because I know even though you say you dont, you cant help but look anyways. xD  .. Anyway, enjoy the story. Hopefully there are no missing dialogue or other reading obstacles outside of my poor story telling skillz . I cant say when the next chapter will be up, but do know that I have started on it and have two pages done already.
