Summer is over. Today was my last day of work. Jim took me out for sushi. It was pretty damn delicious. I did basically nothing (as usual) all day, and then he let me leave early. He and a bunch of the scientists were standing outside smoking, and Jim shook my hand and Tony Almeida, the principle scientist, actually talked to me and looked at me and said he hoped he'd see me next summer (...?). Minus the three hours it took to get home, I'd say that it was a good day, made even better by the fact that Mrs. Toomey, my department's like... what do you call it. Basically she runs the religion department. Sits at the desk and prints stuff blah blah blah. Anyways. She emailed people about a student aide job open in the department and I emailed her back saying I was interested, and she told me that they're saving a spot for me for the job. So that is pretty sweet, too. I've had all kinds of people pumping up my ego today. Jim told me how wonderful I was, as did Debbie, the receptionist for my building up there (who also joined us for lunch), and now obviously my prior belief that everyone in the religion department loves me has been confirmed.
Now, though, it is time for sleep. I got two hours (if even) of sleep last night, and not much better every other night this past week. Jesus Christ I am tired. I'll write about more stuff later, maybe.
