First Grade Field Trip

May 25, 2014 08:52

One of the things I feel most blessed about is that I've had the privilege of being able to volunteer in all of my children's classrooms so far.  Fingers crossed that I can do the same when Riss starts kindergarten (sob) next year.

Every Friday I work with the kids in Kellan's first grade class and it's been so rewarding.  I really like those kids, and I really love his teacher.

She asked me to tag along on their year-end field trip to the local nature center where the kids would be wrapping up their last science until on insects.

It was a beautiful day to be outside and the staff at our nature center does an outstanding job with their presentations.  We all had a blast.  I can't believe that Kellan's first grade year is already near the end.  I'm not ready for him to be any older.

Learning about bees, wasps and ladybugs.

Hiking the trails.

LOTS of BUGS!!

How cool is that walking stick!!!??

Picnic in the park.

Playground fun.  Love these kids.  They all get along so perfectly!

I really love this kid.  He's the best!
