Family History: Patient was raised by his parents, Nathanial and Marina Lant, alongside his younger sister, Kayla for most of his childhood. At the age of 7, he was moved to Catalonia Foster Care.
Life History: Vincent Lant was orphaned at the age of 7, his parents, Nathanial and Marina, and younger sister, Kayla, having died in a carjacking while he was staying the night at a friend’s house. As he had no other family able to care for him, he was taken to Catalonia Foster Care, where he was described as being “unresponsive and introverted” and, while expected after such a huge loss, the staff began to express worry about both his depressed condition and his hair slowly losing pigment. At the state’s suggestion, he was assigned a therapist and diagnosed with Acute Stress Disorder. He was expected to grow out of it with the acceptance of his family's death.
During his time at Catalonia, Vincent grew to be friends with another child in the center, Eduardo Corbett. While the staff were happy to see Vincent finally growing more extroverted and friendly, they also noted him becoming overly-attached and dependent on Eduardo, not wanting to leave him for whatever reason and showing signs of stress and anxiety at the thought of being separated.
The years passed without much incident. While neither Eduardo nor Vincent were adopted out of foster care, both grew to become seemingly well-adjusted and normal adults. Mr. Lant eventually moved to America and joined to take over Frasco Law Firm with Mr. Corbett (taking over for the original founder of the firm, Edward Slater) when Mr. Corbett began dating another lawyer named Alisa Carrie. Mr. Lant soon became incredibly aggressive with her, threatening grievous harm towards her for being with Mr. Corbett (when questioned, Ms. Carrie said she paid little mind to his jealous behavior). He admitted himself back into therapy shortly thereafter and was asked to take anti-depressants by his doctor.
Even with the medication, his relationship with Ms. Carrie was very strained. While still being a loyal and caring friend to Mr. Corbett, he took to calling Ms. Carrie “Eddie's Shadow,” rather than refer to her by her own name and regularly showed hostility towards her.
His last and most recent episode was during the firm's New Year's party. Mr. Corbett proposed to Ms. Carrie and Mr. Lant promptly became enraged, screaming hysterically at the two before storming out of the building.
On January 2nd, 11:28 pm, he was arrested for the assault and attempted murder of Alisa Carrie. It was said to have started off as just a verbal altercation before turning physical, where he then tried to beat and strangle her with a pool cue (thankfully, Ms. Carrie only suffered bruising and a minor fracture in her left ankle. Mr. Lant suffered from a broken index finger). Police were brought in after neighbors complained about fighting in Ms. Carrie’s apartment. Mr. Lant was brought into police custody and confessed to having attacked Ms. Carrie under delusions of revenge, claiming she had murdered Mr. Corbett regardless of all evidence to the contrary. When Mr. Corbett confronted him himself, Mr. Lant grew hostile even to his friend, screaming and refusing to listen to "the shadow that took his body". Mr. Corbett convinced Ms. Carrie to drop all charges in exchange that Mr. Lant would be sent to a mental health facility.
Medical History: Taken to ER at 3 for signs of illness, but was determined to be a cold and sent home soon after. Sprained ankle at 13. Severe laceration on right arm at 19, cause unknown. Broken index finger at 24 from attack on Ms. Carrie.
Current Status: Still showing very little signs of recovery or overcoming his depression. Caution should be taken with the patient because of the severity of his delusions.
