Kickin' off the season...
Thanksgiving is the beginning of my favorite time of year. It's the holiday that celebrates gluttony and sloth (my favorite of all the deadly sins), and is also the herald of best month ever, December. The Bear's birthday is November 27, which means as a couple we get to have Thanksgiving, his birthday, my birthday, and Christmas, all in the space of a month. It's like...well, it's like Christmas. Today I bought twinkly lights and am beginning my plans for Christmas decor in the manner of my new life out here in the cold woods: bedazzled pinecones, glittered pine boughs, and shiny white paper snowflakes. We may not be settled into the house yet, and the gifts we open on Christmas might be the unmarked boxes left over from the move up to Washington, but by God, there will be sparkles.
