Incomplete thoughts related to this weekend, and 1897. (spoilers?)
1) Am now reading The Complete Dracula a heavily annotated version of the original. So far, there have been several pages with more annotation than original material. <3
I rather wish I had managed to read the book before game, but I simply did not manage to get my mitts on it soon enough.
2) Rather wish I'd managed to read more period books, as so far as I can tell my character kept up with current novels and other publications. Ah well, at least I managed to read Prisoner of Zenda prior to game. It helped with characterization, and with getting into my character's headspace.
3) So many amazing players! So many interesting plots! Definitely a game I kind of wish we could have had random cameras all over for to record hilarious/epic encounters for those of us who could not be present at them. (I've heard various stories from different people, but I still haven't quite figured out everything that was going on in this wonderfully complex and busy game)
4) I need to start carrying a notebook for myself to jot down people's real names alongside their characters. Even if I remember names correctly I can't seem to believe myself capable of doing so and therefore asked some people more than once ><;
5) I love Victorian era fiction, clothing, and visuals.
6) This game most definitely rocked.
7) I hope at some point to post something more to the point and more coherent, but for now this haphazard list will do. Hope to see all my fellow players of 1897 in the future! <3
