i agree with marcelino, the parachute was a throwback to his old life, a kinda safety net. sure, he jumped off the cliff but before he can go all the way through to "shed his skin", if you will, he's already going back to what's comfortable.

lol, i was actually gonna have the guy die by slamming into the cliff or something but that isn't very motivational so I went with the shoot which still represented his old self but it was behind him as something he could look back on and something if he wanted to go back to, because one can't totaly get rid of their old self no matter how hard you try.

ACTUALLY!

People can change, easily, IF they have the willpower to do so. Most people don't, which is my everyone just keeps saying people don't change and yadda yadda.

As for looking past, well yeah, people do that, especially if they do change (for the better or for the worse, depending on the person's viewpoint)...mostly with regret, while others just won't give a shit, and the wasted time is just wasted, there's nothing else to do about it, 'cause crying won't bring it back.
