Too bad they didn't get the original Jap seiyuu for the game to voice the character for the anime
That's it... I'm officially lazy. I have time to post this random useless piece of information but I'm too lazy to post about my wonderful 3 days in Malaysia last weekend. I know I know... Procrastination is good for the soul. XD
So I was looking through Nakai Kazuya's ANN.com page and I saw that he was in Xenosaga as Scottkun or Assistant Scott to the English-speaking world. A link and a click later, I saw that Allen Ridgeley is voiced by Hirata Hiroaki.
More poking and one thing led to another. I found out that Allen and Scott had a scene in the horrible excuse for a game-turned-anime so I dug out my copy and watched said scene--in which a chance meeting led Allen and Scott who were drinking (already drunk?) to end up as fast friends, complaining to each other about their respective bosses and sympathizing with the other after hearing about each other's plight.
Now the thing is, anime!Scottkun isn't voiced by Nakai-san. Which is a pity since if he were, we would be seeing hearing Zoro (Nakai-san) and Sanji (Hirata-san) bonding over a shot of old pale and sobbing into each other's arms.
I wonder if the exchange took place in the games too... Again, laziness prevented me from playing them. Speaking of which, I don't think I actually finished Xenogears either. I think I was still training up to fight the last boss! OMG I hope my saved game data is still around!!!! O_O
