So I guess I'm going to talk about my college life so far...
Wednesday: Was mildly awkward, and really hot.
Thursday: Was cool! I met a whole bunch of fellow Design and Production students, and they're all very nice. One of the reasons I'm so happy I went to a big school, is because all the deans are really easygoing and friendly, and all the orientation presentations are very professional.
Case in point :
http://www.youtube.com/user/BostonUnivDOS#play/all/uploads-all/2/4H1U32oJ5Zo (The dean of students is in it, he seems like such an easygoing guy) They also did some fun things, like a presentation from all the Student Advisors-- it was a play about BU orienation, with a whole bunch of "famous" cameos. Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, Bella and Edward, and Ariel from The Little Mermaid was there. Did I also mention it was hilarious?
Friday: We only did a few things, but it wasn't too bad. Afterwards, I went and got my books from Barnes and Noble and then went out to see mom. We had supper and I went back to the dorms, getting totally lost looking for the Prudential T-Stop.
Saturday: Chilled with mom in Salem, witch was totally awesome. We went to two different witches museums and saw the House of Seven Gables. One of the witch museums had a live-action play attatched... and my mom, me and andrew were the only ones there. Talk about awkward. I felt really bad for the actors who had to do that scene with basically no audience. Afterwards though, we went down into this reproduction dungeon of where they held the supposed witches. It was dark and very cramped.... like super-duper cramped. Like, if you didn't have enough money to bribe the Sheriff off with, you got a cell that you had pretty much only enough room to stand in. And you were with another person in that cell. Cramped. And anyway, after that was the House of Seven Gables, which was the home that Nathanial Hawthorne talked about in his book The House of Seven Gables. It was a fun tour because our tour guide's speaking style was so robotic, and I just laughed from remembering my Speech days when you would hear that kind of thing in Oratory a lot. You wern't allowed to take pictures, a rule I pretty much raped to death sneaking them on my phone for Al. (You better appreciate those, missy!) Then we went back to Boston, I said goodbye to mom, and headed back to my dorm. My roommate was there, and she's really nice so far... I think we'll get along well. And she's dating someone back in Rhode Island, so at least for the first part of the year (until they break up...) I won't have to worry about getting sexiled! Whoo!
But yeah, that's pretty much my life in a nutshell right now. I miss Jimmy John's a bit, actually, but I can't really go back to that, can I? Classes start on Wednesday, but today is pretty much the only hardcore free day. It's only 8:40 my time, so I'm thinking about going back to bed.... but maybe just getting something to eat will be good.
