What's happening everybody?! Well, I've finally reached my home for the next few years, and although I haven't gone into downtown yet, I love it here. Currently I'm chilling at the barracks, waiting for my ship to get back. Florida was nice...... made some great friends while I was there; one of them was actually in my brother division back in boot camp, and I couldn't stand her back then. Anyway, it was alright except for the fact that they had a lot of dumb ass rules, like how ATD's (my rate) aren't allowed to wear civies (civilian clothes). So after working hours, we and everyone else in Phase One had to walk around in either their dress blues or their working blues. It suck. We also had to be in at 2145 every night. Now here in CA, I can do whatever I want; I could leave at 1630 on Friday and not come back until 0700 Monday morning. I took plenty of pictures too; I was so beuatiful down there, but when you went off base, you could still see all of the devastation from Hurricane Ivan. Every roof is temporary, there's deplapidated (sp?) everywhere, there's even still some boats on shore. Overall I've enjoyed my experience in the Navy. If I could change anything, it would be that I could see my family and friends back home anytime I wanted but unfortunately that's the price I have to pay. I miss Carl so much..... I think about him all of the time, but I have to quit because it hurts to much. I also don't talk to my Mom as often as everybody else because I get homesick the most when I hear her voice. I just hope I get the chance to go home before I go on deployment. Well, take care and I'll write soon!
