Still alive and dry..

I was suprised to see how long since i posted here.
but, just in case some had heard about what happened to nashville and had not seen my posts on trekbbs thought i better drop by.
the weekend before last parts of tennessee had between 12 to 15 inches of rain over just two days. often coming down in torrents over a short period of time.
we had tremendous flash flooding starting saturday with all the creeks, branches ect.
flooding like i had never seen before.
then on sunday night the cumberland river started to flood.
certain neighborhoods and part of downtown nashville were flooded.
but the city is recovering and pretty soon at least with downtown things are getting back to normal and ready for our tourist seasons.

it is going to take a lot longer for the neighborhoods both here and in the surrounding counties to recover.
and for some it may never be the same.
but there has been a tremendous outpouring of help from volunteers.

really, it started during the floods when volunteers got their boats and rushed to wherever people were trapped. the authorities like the police, fire and even the local electric company were out trying to rescue people but there where just so many places and not enough official boats.

despite getting some water in my crawl space under my house i am doing fine. and grateful all of my friends are alive even though some had some damage.

hope everyone has been doing well.
