1. West Wing Geek - I don't care how many times I've watched it....every time I see the Episode where Josh and Donna finally get together I get all happy and excited.  I know it's cheesy and geeky but hey ... it's West Wing and it's romance.  I'm a geek for a capital city romantic story

I can't help you with numbers one and three, but Wikipedia has a pretty good summary of the theoretical causes of ice ages. It boils down to the sun's output not being constant and possible effects of changes here on earth (continent position, vulcanism, etc.). Even constants change.

2. It's all about the way warm and cold water move about in the vast oceans, having absolutely dominate control over weather. (google: jet stream) If the cold water stops moving away from the north atlantic and being replaced by warm water from the south... it's time for an ice age. No question... no escape.
