*sigh* It's not that I don't like motherly girls, or even girls who are kinda messed up in the head and girls who don't just (or at all) kick butt as their primary source of awesome. A lot of girls on the internets seem to hate girls that aren't tough, but I' not one of them.
I didn't super love Orihime at the beginning of Bleach mostly because the seeds of my rant were already planted then, but she was cool and her power was pretty obviously non-combat oriented and it's ok for females (or males!) to be girly white mages. ... actually can we have more male girly white mages? I think that would be awesome.
Anyway! But over the last two arcs especially, her actions during Hueco Mundo and the start of Karakura town fight she did really carry over into a female character I just had to hate. It's not even that I hate *her* because ... well women like that in real life just kind of make me feel defeated and sad. I've started to hate Kubo though, for what he did to her. Even if the moral of the story is she needs Ichigo or she needs Tatsuki that's just not alright ... no one should need another person to be strong and writing that as the solution to being so weak is just offensive.
I'm not even sure I'm coherent right now .... but those are my thoughts.
