Trip to wisconsin

The highlights of my trip to wisconsin.

* since my grandma had her stroke, she has been on better behavior. She kept trying to feed me one morning and I came out and said "despite my size (as she has always made fat comments) I am not a big eater"
She came back with "there is nothing wrong with your size." WOW DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT? I NEED A WITNESS lol.

*Went to Galeena Iowa with mom, bought a ring for myself and a necklace. My Grandma was admiring my ring, and I asked her if she wanted it. She said "oh no, its yours, unless you want me to have it." i told her to keep it if she liked it. It was a garnet ring in silver. She was actually tickled by it. Somewhere that made me feel better than having the ring. I can only hope she remembers I gave it to her and doesn't turn it into my cousin giving it to her.

* We were going through my grandma's small amount of jewelry and my mom was going to clean everything for her. We found a large mens ring. My grandma said it was my grandpas. I looked at it, it was a class ring, that said Phillip 2001, fennimore (a neighboring town). She kept insisting it was my grandpas. He walked in and I asked if he won that in a poker game and stole it from poor Phil. He just laughed and said yup. I seriously wonder where it came from.

*Grandpa told me a story about going to the bar after work, when he worked at John Deere, to watch the "Go Go Dancers" must have been what they called stirppers in the late 60's. lol. said they never discussed work while at the bar. and for 3 years a nice guy used to sit with him and his friends. Turned out to be a Big Wig at John Deere he later formally met when he had to request a transfer. lol.

* found out grandpa's nick name of "spud" came from the fact that that is what his mother craved when she was preggers with him. Fun times.

Thats all
