Just for the fun of it... I will be adding some info about the NPCs involved in this SL and a few things about their past.
Berloena Tari is a sidhe whom Brighton, our official Troll ran into. She looks desperate and from time to time seems to lack of patience. She has proven to e a good fighter and that she doesn't give up easily. From time to time, seems to have lost fear and respect for many things and seems to be capable to do anything to acomplish what she has set on her mind.
Berloena was sat anxiously waiting to hear anything about her father. She knew that the recent events would be causing her family several problems and was desperate to know what actions would be taken against her people.
Every minute was painful.
As she watched the servants come and go as she waited, she thought of all the possible answers that the Count would give her about her father`s trial. She was scared, very scared and after long hours, no more servants or guards entered the room, it was the Count himself who walked through the door and solemnly greeted her. She stood up and bowed politely and he sat down without paying much attention to her.
- Lady Berloena Tari, Are you conscious of what has your father allowed to happen and what will happen to him?
She felt her mouth go dry and looked at him carefully, she knew that Count Etienne never liked her or her father but was the only one who could do something for him in this current situation.- I am sir. - Her voice had a fake calm but her worries about her loved ones were too much for being able to hide them. She looked into those arrogant eyes who seemed to be almost smiling as enjoyed those desperate moments for the Tari family.
-Why did you come to see me lady Berloena? Did you think that I could save your father’s sorry ass? - he chuckled- I never thought that his and your destiny could be in my hands..... - he shook his head and stood up walking in circles around her. - why would I be interested in defending your father who claimed to be the king’s best and most compromised man of arms and claimed that duchess Opalia would be safe under his protection. He did as much as possible to keep me out of this Lady Berloena.... he did it and I am not the kind of man who forgets easily considering that a knight threatened against my honesty and integrity in an audience with the king. Oh Lady Berloena, you have no idea of how much it pleases me your company tonight. But I wonder... what will you offer to this humble king’s servant to save your father? Why would I care about him or you? Why would I Berloena Tari? Why?
She remained speechless for a moment and lowered her gaze, she knew since everything began that she would do anything to keep away from this arrogant man but this was the last resort to do something, she would beg to him if she had to. - I know very well that this is not right your grace, I shouldn’t have come but I suppose that in my position you would have done the same. If there is something to be done to save my father and find the duchess I will certainly do it. We all know that Duchess Opalia is a clue element for finding those who are against this courts beliefs and want to take it down. Your grace... we all want to save this kingdom and I will do whatever is in my hands to save it.
He smiled and stood in front of her - Is it true lady Berloena? - he raised his hand to her chin forcing her to look at him. His eyes of a cold and deep blue stared at her deeply with something more than his usual arrogance, there was malice and a sly expression of vengeance in his eyes. - All that I ever wanted is here watching me now, begging for a chance to amend someone else’s mistakes.... oh dear Berloena, you have no idea of how much I am enjoying this moment. - as he caressed her cheek watching carefully how she turned pale - Tell me Berloena, do you believe in truth?-Reaching his lips to hers feeling her tremble under his proximity as he reached his lips to her ear to whisper softly- But I’m not the one to save your father. The only thing I could do is to stop this trial until it’s proven wether the duchess is dead or alive. Your father and his people will be held in prison and if you want to set them free you will have to find her. You will have to bring whatever you find of her be it her bones, any of her belongings or the duchess herself. I don’t care what it is. Just tell all of us what happened to her.
- I will- Her voice was truthful and clear, she didn’t doubt for a moment as answered to him.
- well then, we will make an oath Lady Berloena Tari of the House of Gwydion. - He reached his hand to her left arm just besides her heart.- But I warn you, this won’t be an easy quest and it is well known that you are not a warrior like your father.
- I will have to deal with the consequences then.
- You are such a good girl, you will do anything to save your father. If that is your answer nothing else can be done but to begin with this. - He gave her a sly smile, his fingers kept pressing her arm still and his other hand held hers.-“ Innocence will be erased and silence will be broken. Memory of your steps will disappear as you seek for truth. Every night will bring you to a new destination as you escape from the curse that chase you. Strong, slender and deathly darkness will follow your steps in numbers that cannot be divided. Seek for the truth and find it. Seek for the truth and bring it back where it belongs. Seek for the truth or death will pour as a rain of endless pain to all the ones you have ever loved.”
His fingers pressed her arm every time harder until she could feel his fingers digging so deep into her skin that it hurt. Tears were about to come from her eyes as felt both, his eyes staring at her and the pressure of his hand against her arm. As she heard his words things seemed to change, each sound, each word began to twist her perception on things. She knew that things wouldn’t be the same from that moment and on. Uncertainty began rising in her mind as perceived how everything around her was different. Darkness was growing around both of them at a surprising speed. A vague scent of wild and exotic flowers filled her nose for a second making her dizzy just for a moment. Before she could realize it she was kneeled in a dark alley holding a rusty pipe into her hands. She was confused and began looking around the alley as saw Count Ettiene leaving the alley with the calm , elegant and arrogant steps that only a noble sidhe could give when he had won a battle.
She doubted for a second as looked the pipe and saw the noble man leaving, her uncertainty was every time scarier and bigger. Her lips trembled for a second and called his name- Ettiene wait!.
Count Ettiene was surprised as noticed the strange familiarity in which Berloena had addressed to him and looked back as stood several meters away from her. He didn’t say a thing as looked how she was kneeled on the floor holding the pipe
- what am I supposed to do now? - she looked scared and didn’t take her eyes from him.
He looked at her calmly - Seek for the truth as you have accepted. I have given you a tool for your mission, tools and weapons are what we choose to make of them for odd they seem to be into our eyes. For the sake of your father, I hope to meet you soon Berloena Tari. - And walked out of the alley disappearing from her sight. She didn’t know what destiny had in store for her but for what she had perceived things wouldn’t be pleasant from this moment and on.
