Curing cancer. In my world there are only treatments, but definite cures don't exist that I know of.

There are a few different ways. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are the most known ways. [...] Yet both involve poisoning your body or exposing yourself to harm. Even in my world a cure is a far ways off.

You would need to poison the cancerous cells inside the body, so yes. Unless there's a tumor visible on the outside of the body, which means surgery to remove it would need to be involved.

A tumor is a large lump of swelled flesh that appears on the outside of the body. Sometimes the tumor is on the inside. Tumors are common signs of mutated and defective cells, which are the cause of cancer.
