I have crawled my way out of the pit known as sewing hell to tell you that I am filled with a story idea! Don't ask me about upholstery foam or horsehair trim right now. Don't. I might go a little Coen Brothers protagonist on you.
I woke from a dream today and there was an image so acute in my mind, so important that I immediately began constructing reasons for why that image had been planted. And with that came a story. So here is that story, or at least a possible synopsis for it currently:
A young woman named Kamala is out at a bar when she meets a young man who has an uncanny appearance. She's not sure why his mannerisms seem so odd or why his appearance is so familiar that it appears to completely elude her memories.
In the middle of this story is a spectacle of flesh that has never been seen before. A construction that can take form of any ideal image.
But at the beginning of it is a young girl and her doll.
It feels very M+I currently, but I'm working to separate the two. I have no title for it currently and the only name that came to mind immediately was Kamala. The images just keep popping up in my head and I'm not fighting it which is the best kind of story idea.
Now back to sewing Sailor Mars. And . . . back to my aching fingers.
