Awesomecakes!

(and some not so awesomecakes stuff, but more on that later)

Things that are AWESOME?

1. I just bought the complete Arrested Development DVD set (currently on sale at Amazon for $26.99!) using my cashback credit from one of my credit cards. Yay! I've been meaning to get this series on DVD for ages and, for some reason, the show's been on my mind a bunch lately. So such perfect timing to be able to buy it for "free."

2. I am wearing one of the many pairs of earrings I bought while in Boston. Whee! I feel pretty, so very pretty ... ;)

3. I discovered this pizza recipe earlier this morning and OMG YUM MUST MAKE. I see some pizza dough making in my near future.

4. My sister-in-law sent me a short audio file -- which I would post here if I knew how to do so -- in which my nephew, in his adorable little boy voice, says he misses and loves me. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Now, for things not so awesome:

1. I'm no longer in Boston and chilling with nandamai. *pout*

2. Not only am I not in Boston, but I'm back at work and have a presentation to give later today. *doublepout*

3. I learned from my manager yesterday that my director wants to pull me off my big project and hand it over to a less experienced analyst so I can have more time to focus on being a "consultant." On the one hand, this is good because this project is quite big and very time-consuming and, for whatever reason, my director has never viewed it as very important or given me proper props for how much work/time I've put into making it success. And I've known for a while that as long as I continued working on this project, my director would never change his view of me and what I bring to the department. On the other hand, I really love this project and it touches upon many of my interests. Plus, it's been my baby for the past 3-4 years, so I'm bummed to have to give it up for, possibly, projects that do not interest me as much. AND, as one of the ego-stroking things, I've enjoyed being known as the "go-to" person for this project; it helps me feel like I have a definite role within the dept. So to lose that has me feeling rather ... rudderless. Oh well.

Oh! By the way, new mood theme is from mrv3000. Isn't it too cute?
