Ron White

DH and I went to see Ron White at the lovely (NOT) Verizon Theater in Houston last weekend.  It was his 3rd of 3 shows and it was the late show at 10:30pm.  The theater fits 3,000 people so it isn't like a tiny comedy club but man this place is kind of gross.  We saw Kathy Griffin there 2 weeks earlier which was our first time to attend anything at this establishment.  They leave you outside to wait in line until basically the time the show starts.  You walk in the door and before you get 6 feet in the door, there is the place where t-shirts and other merchandise.  You've got 3,000 people coming through the door and you put that right next to the front door so when people start lining up it impedes people entering.  One of the first bars is up against a wall and the line goes straight toward the front entrace, nice guys.  For KG, they let us in and we got to go straight to our seats.  For Ron White, they let us in then wouldn't let us in the theater for 20 minutes.  It was like they were trying to pack sardines in a can.

While waiting outside for Ron White, an ambulance shows up and carries some lady away with a neck brace on.  I figured she slipped on the stairs or fell drun on her butt.  Come to find out, she FELL FROM THE BALCONY!  Holy Crap, how do you fall from the balcony during a comedy show???  Just like you can count ont he sun rising, Ron White had already worked that into his routine, LOL!  He said the lady needed to work on her "sitting skills".  He also talked about what a stink hole the venue was so I didn't feel like I was a total synic.  His routine was great and my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing, much more than when we went to Kathy Griffin.
