Pouring rain in New Zealand

I'm currently paying $2 for every 20 minutes in Chateau Franz, a hostel in Franz Josef NZ in the South Island. It's pouring rain and has been doing so for two days. Today my friend Saman and I did a 3/4 day hike, with a guide, on the glacier. It was pouring rain as it has been doing so for days. We got soaked, we work crampons to grip the ice, we had Saman made Dal on a glacier. In fact, our bright yellow dal was so bright on this cloudy day one of the guides passing us by while we sat and ate it while squating in the dirt asked cried out "what is that?"
