Internship Update
I've been slacking with updating this thing due to the craziness of the past couple of weeks. Mainly homework, which I keep trying every year to tell myself not to procrastinate. It's kinda been working so far, and I'm not really behind in any classes yet *knock on wood.* Now that I'm in the core classes for my major, there's a considerable increase in the workload, which isn't too bad because I enjoy the subjects.
Anyway, the whole point to the post is about the sports marketing internship I applied for a couple weeks ago. I technically did not get it, but the marketing director for Bradley sports gave me a very nice alternative. She suggested that I "volunteer" at most of the home games where I will be doing promotions. The awesome thing about this, is that I would be doing this had I gotten the internship. The only difference is that getting the internship would have also consisted of about a 10-15 hour office job to go along with the promotions work at the games. I was disappointed with the news, but not upset since I'll get to do the fun stuff, which will give some experience in the field. This weekend Bradley hosted a women's volleyball tourney, so I worked there for 3 out of the 4 Bradley games. All I did was to get several people to participate in this contest on the court between games where they won free coupons for smoothies. That will be the extent of what I do I guess, with much more responsibilities once basketball season gets into session.
No more real other news, except that I'm starting to get sick, which is not good this week because I've got 2 tests. Other than that....I've got nothing else.
