Epic Project Is Epic
So, I finally finished the mobile chicken coop. It holds 50 chickens. It's also the first thing I've ever built that has wheels and an axle. And it's very, very ghetto.
How ghetto? Well...
That orange thing on the back is a gravity-feed waterer, which is a pretty nifty little invention. It's fed by gravity from the white bucket, and feeds out water through a little spring-controlled valve in the top. As long as there's water in the bucket, the chickens have fresh, clean water on demand.
Now my chickens can clear the rotational pastures of bugs. They'll follow behind the cows and the horses, eating ticks and fly larvae deposited in the fresh manure. Yummy.
