25 days.
I have 25 days to be done.
I have 25 days to make my vision clear.
CHANGE.
In May of 2006 I entered the Imagine Cup, a contest I failed to meet the deadline. When that happened I was crushed, I knew it wasn't my fault. My group I was in had their true colors shine through and clearly the inadequacies they had as dependable people. We didn't get the project done in time for the contest but by pulling 2 over-nighters I finished it for the class.
Know now.
Fast forward to October 2006. The Imagine Cup website was updated and I started working on the story for the video. I wanted to do it again, this time by my self so I wouldn't have to depend on others. This way if I failed again it would be because of my actions, because of my ineptitude. I continued to come up with Ideas and throw them away. I would wake up at night and scramble to write down my dream. That's how it came to me. In my sleep I envisioned the entire opening sequence. From there it was all just a matter of coming up with the rest of the story. I however as many people do fell behind on the project and had to focus on schoolwork. In late January the project came back to me in a bit of a wave of euphoria. I knew I had to get cracking on it but this time I couldn't go it alone. I started to get with Kaity on the weekends to discuss the project and enlist her as help with the story and acting. We came up with the ending one night and when we were done writing I felt so accomplished. Never before has something I have created given me chills. We knew we had something on our hands, something big. We also knew that we couldn't go it alone, I with no musical expertise, and patsy with limited guitar had to enlist some extra help. Jason, the musical master that he is was fit for the job and glad to help us out. With the team assembled set everything into action. We started filming over spring break and got most of the movie finished before we even qualified. In a bit of a rush and the fact that we were a small operation we hurried the storyboards along. The storyboards are what carry us to round 2. Needless to say they were not up to the caliber of what we can do, but were running out of time. They were submitted and we in fact passed to round 2.
Out of 160 teams only 30 go on. That says something.
Now we are 25 days away from it being due. This week will be tough, I will be so anxious waiting for Sunday, our final shoot. I still don't know 100% if we can do this. Now I am depending on 1 person, and I hope he doesn't let me down. From here Jason and I will be working overtime to get the video on my and the music on his end done and complete.
Within 25 days the video that I have poured all I have into will be finished.
Within 25 days the single hardest project I have ever attempted will be complete.
Within 25 days I will be accomplished.
That's my story. So you all '
Know now.'
