Summary: The ups and downs in a relationship are the amplitudes of our life. Basically...
A/N: Back to my obsession with mathematics... Guh... Anyways, the POV for each circle changes between Key and Jonghyun, starting with Key. Enjoy!

Circles

Musing, he slid slowly with one fingertip over the water marks on the dark wood. With every ring he closed, he felt the seconds passing. Following the round traces of water, he sensed the periodicity of time, of circles, of waves.
His mind got flooded with images, his chest felt heavily empty.
'We met', he laid his finger on top of a circle, 'We got to know each other', he stroke in an arc to the right, 'Our feelings changed', he arrived at the bottom, 'We danced around each other', he continued up to the left, 'We kissed', he found his finger on top again.

Life is a sinus function. A circle. A spiral. A wave. 'We kissed', he starred at the top, 'We were in love', he moved to the right again, 'We started to see small flaws', he reached the bottom, 'Our flaws piled up', on to the left, 'We fought', the top again.
Love is a co-sinus function. A circle. A spiral. A wave. With the flat hand, he smeared the outlines of the water circle. Kibum looked up to the clock; he checked how long it had been since he was waiting for Jonghyun to come home. He took the cup from the table and a sip from the tea. Before he could see the new circle of water, which had been hidden underneath his cup, he put the porcelain back in place.

Circle One

The train was filled with people. "Show me your tickets, please!" I shifted my glance from the book to my bag.
Browsing for my wallet, I saw some shoes shuffling nervously next to mine. I looked up. Big brown eyes, full of fear. 'He has no ticket'  I thought.
"Show me your ticket, please." I winced, the voice was suddenly so close. With the movement, all the coins from my wallet splattered on the floor.
The boy and me hurried to collect them. The conductor moved on. "I saved your ass" I whispered. "You owe me now." His answer was a smile.

Circle Two

He talked endlessly and I found myself ordering the third beverage, even though I wanted to be home an hour ago. His name was Kibum and by now I knew all about his childhood, his family and friends, even about his current neighbors and his professors. The girl, who delivers his milk in the morning, is called Kim Mal Sun, by the way.
He had a sincere face, when he talked, but when he laughed, his mien lightened up brightly. Somewhere between his rant, he scolded me for wearing two different kind of socks. I still don't know, how he spotted that.
He asked me a lot, got many calls, which he didn't bother to answer and he clapped his hands in joy, after persuading me to sing for him. When I walked home, I felt like I have been ran over by a hurricane and I knew, I made a new friend, whose face I wouldn't get tired of seeing.

Circle Three

Dandering together,
The sunshine on my neck,
I took your hand,
A glint in your eyes:
Laughing is a gift.
There will be no day as beautiful as this.

Circle Four

Lying on my bed, I found no sleep. What was up with me lately? I was in a good mood nearly every day and felt like laughing out loud at the most hideous things.
I wanted to call Kibum again and tell him my suspicion that someone might have drugged me without me realizing it. But it was already late and he was probably asleep. Was he asleep? And did he ate well today?
I turned and tossed, it was either to warm with the blanket covering me or to cold without it.
Around one in the morning I gave up and called. "Hey Kibum, sorry if I woke you up. I can't sleep."
"What a coincidence, I just thought about you!" I heard him saying on the other side of the line and my drugged self reached a new state of highness.

Circle Five

This was the most nervous I have ever been in my life. Jonghyuns face was so close to mine, sooo close! I could smell his hair; his eyes... his eyes...
In slow motion, he closed them, our noses nearly touched, just nearly; Jonghyun tilted his head, breath on my philtrum.
Two warm hands on my cheeks, I didn't knew what to do with mine, so I just let them hanging on my sides, clenched to fists; my body tensed up even more, when his lips reached mine.
'Does this mean, we are a couple from now on?'

Circle Six

Does that meant, they were a couple from now on?
Jonghyun wasn't so sure, if Kibum liked, what he did to him at that moment. The other was tensed up, even though he returned the kiss, the rest of the body didn't seem to participate.
When Jonghyun let go of Kibum's mouth and cheeks, the younger one blushed and looked down, smiling as fulfilled as Jonghyun had never seen him smile before.
Kibum's reaction made him nervous, but suddenly, the boy jumped forward to hug him tightly. This was the most happy Jonghyun had ever been in his life.

Circle Seven

They laid on Jonghyuns bed, outstretched and more than full by the huge amount of popcorn they just ate. Kibum tried to push Jonghyun's heavy leg from his stomach, but he was too weak to do that, so he petted it instead.
"It is so nice to have you around" Jonghyun said and Kibum grunted in response. He wanted to dooze a bit before going home.
"Maybe you could move in with me." Every fatigue and feeling of too much exploded corn in him had vanished immediately.
"Really?" he asked, sitting up. Jonghyun nodded and Kibum started to scream and to slap his shoulders. A clear sign of joy.

Circle Eight

He loved him,
But he couldn't rip himself into two.
There was another world,
That didn't spun entirely around Kim Kibum.
He had too much air in his lungs,
Yet too less flutes for to play.

Circle Nine

And it was the same face in the mirror again, the same grimace, he had to look at everyday in his life, the same eyes, giving him the same glance and the same mouth, which hasn't been smiling back since a long time now.
He had stared for minutes onto the cold surface, ignoring the contours, forcing his eyes to blur his mien into a fog of colors. All his beauty was worth nothing. All his features have been known to him too well. It had lost its thrill.
Somewhere between the other long lost dreams was an image of being an interesting person and he had tried to live up to that. When his desires changed, he lost the chances to fulfill this image: The feeling he hoped for never came.
Instead, he stood there, naked in the bathroom, with the same face and the same body he had since he was born, a shell, not good enough for neither the owner nor his object of desire. He frowned and took the razor.

Circle Ten

The bus shook aggressively over the uneven road and Jonghyun was the first to break the silence. "I still can't believe you shaved half of your head without consulting me first."
Kibum closed his book with a snap and hissed back: "And I still can't believe, how possessive you are. It is my head and my hair. I do as I wish with it."
Jonghyun wanted to reply, but Kibum turned away, murmuring "You have a weird way of choosing, when to care and when to ignore..."
That was the last straw, Jonghyun grabbed his bag and left the vehicle on the next halt, leaving the pouting Kibum behind without another word.

Musing, he walked slowly around the block again. Every time he passed the front door to their flat, he felt the minutes passing. Following along the sidewalk in a circle, he sensed the periodicity of time, of spirals, of waves.
His mind was blank, his chest was filled with anger.
'Why did we had to meet?', he walked away from the door, 'And why did we had to become friends?', he turned left into the crossing street, 'I wish, my feelings wouldn't have changed', he turned left yet again, 'I wish, he wouldn't have returned my feelings', he turned into their street again, 'Then we wouldn't have kissed', he halted in front of the door.

Life is a sinus function. A circle. A spiral. A wave. 'We kissed...', he started moving the other way around now, 'And I am still in love with him', he turned into the right street, 'I actually don't mind his flaws that much', he passed another corner, 'Even though he has a lot more of them, than I thought he would', another right-turn, 'We shouldn't have fought', he reached the door again.
Love is a cosinus function. A circle. A wave. With shivering legs, he made his way up the stairs. Jonghyun opened the door and saw Kibum waiting for him at the kitchen table. "I am sorry" he said to the relieved face. The clock on the wall continued its ticking and the two opened a new circle.

Ponylove for the Shawols ~ ♥♥♥

~ Aish, this has not been my day. One member of the Purkl-Power-Team handicapped, my wingman will leave tomorrow for a year, I accidentally ate meat and on top of that I re-read this fic I wrote a month ago and wondered, why it feels like not written by me.
Anyways, I hope, ya all could enjoy nevertheless and had a nice Key-birthday-day as well. I ate some cake and wished him the best; hopefully he had a blasting day too, kekeke. Comments? Love? Phone numbers of new wingmen? ~ ♥
