Seems I went wild...

...in a bookshop. Again. XD Bought myself No Sense of Place by Joshua Meyrowitz, a study on the influence of electronic media on social behaviour. I hope to use it for my PhD thesis - not that it was necessary for writing the crucial part, but you know how it goes. Several books and studies must be read so that you could progress with one single page (sometimes even less!) of your own work. It's really financially exhausting, especially as I ordered yet another book on social history of Japan yesterday and because it's coming from overseas, I will be paying terribly much. I guess I should use library more, but a) I like my OWN books, b) lot of the books I need are either unavailable or the person who has them now is unable to return them in time. And frankly, once I get them it is I who becomes unable to return them in time. So there. :/
Anyway, probably shouldn't whine about money, as Dana and I are currently spending a bit too much. But then, it was our 10th Valentine's Day together, so we had to celebrate a little. ;) Apart from other things, we went to a posh restaurant and engaged in a great debauchery which had lots to do with prawns, lobsters, octopuses, caviar and truffles. Mmmm. I really enjoyed that, plus the atmosphere and especially service was pretty good. The waiter did not bat an eye when it became clear we were a Valentine couple. :)

As for other things, nothing really new - except the fact that the cause of the water leaking was finally discovered. Seems it was really in our flat (something went wrong with the pipes in our wall), but the house co-op says we won't have to pay for the repair, as it seems to be co-op's responsibilty. We will have it repaired tomorrow. They will have to dig into floor and wall and everything. *shudder* Hopefully it goes well.

home, studies, valentine's day
