Yunho and Jaejoong, Forever.
Jaejoong traces out the words on Yunho’s back, finger trailing across his skin to line his shoulder blade. He nestles deeper into the blankets of Yunho’s bed, inhaling his scent, a familiar blend of shea butter and cologne.
Their fingertips are touching slightly, eyes fixated on the ceiling. The lights are off, and there is nothing but moonlight and glow-in-the-dark stars Junsu had playfully stuck onto their wall one night for only them to see. “Jaejoong,” Yunho whispers almost inaudibly, and Jaejoong hums in reply, shifting his body slightly. There was nothing; no intimacy, no clothes on the ground or disgruntled bodies laced together. There was nothing, empty silence filled by only their uneven breathing-and yet, there was everything.
“Tell me ten things you want to do in your life. Tell me here, now, while we’re together” Jaejoong smiles at the demand, and inhales deeply.
“One,” he begins, scrunching his toes. “Climb Mount Kilimanjaro.” He hears Yunho chuckle and mutter a quiet “impossible”.
“Two,” there is a pause as Jaejoong thinks. “Become Superman.” The statement comes out of his mouth sounding more like a question than it is supposed to, but Yunho says nothing, so Jaejoong continues.
“Three,” Jaejoong smiles as the thought comes to him. “Meet Oprah Winfrey.” He hears Yunho stifle a laugh.
“Easy,” the other man says, and Jaejoong thinks to himself, Maybe, but not right now.
“Four,” The sound of breathing and rustling blankets is all Jaejoong is hearing. “Go Stargazing in Europe.” Yunho’s smile is evident in his voice when he asks “How does Paris sound?”
“Five,” and for a second, Jaejoong hesitates. But this is Yunho, this is them, in a room, in the dark. “Fall in… Love?”
He turns his head slightly and finds that Yunho is looking at him. Pools of dark-brown lit up by the moon drifting into the room through plastic blinds gaze into his own, and maybe Jaejoong is blushing, though nobody can tell.
“Six,” he says shakily, and Yunho is moving closer towards him, shifting until their elbows are almost touching. “Fly. Above the clouds, across the universe.”
Yunho hums the song and Jaejoong laughs quietly, because it’s always been a favorite.
“Seven,” Yunho is still humming, but a glint in his eyes urges Jaejoong to continue. “Swim in an ocean as blue as they look in the pictures.”
“Eight,” the music has stopped now, and the room is back to silence, but Yunho is creeping even closer, and closer, and all of a sudden knees are touching and Jaejoong can hear his breathing louder than the music had ever been. “Be together. Forever. As us.” Yunho chuckles, but says nothing more, lifting a thumb to graze against Jaejoong’s cheek.
“Nine,” their breaths are melding together, and Yunho’s nose brushes against Jaejoong’s own. “Hold somebody under the moonlight. Glow-in-the-dark stars work too.” Strong arms wrap around Jaejoong’s waist and they’re breathing in sync, chests pressed together, slim fingers tugging at Yunho’s shirt lightly.
“Ten,” Jaejoong says, and they’re looking at each other, and Yunho is smiling, and Jaejoong thinks oh, this is it. So he takes a deep breath, and says,
“Be kis-“
Jaejoong isn’t given a chance to finish.
Jaejoong realizes that Yunho’s lips fit his own perfectly, like two pieces of a puzzle, like the sun in a crescent moon. He pulls Yunho closer, savouring the kiss they share in the middle of the night, while the other members are sleeping safe and sound in their beds. Emptiness fills the night, but happiness fills his heart.
It’s kind of like fireworks.
