Duke...

That name gets funnier every time I say it. So, I got my interview schedule today: 8 hours filled with fun and adventure. I've just finished reading and highlighting about 4lbs of research, my bags are almost packed, and my vacation time is locked in. Tomorrow afternoon I review what I've highlighted, focus on question prediction and interest-relevant counter-questions for professors. If nothing else, I've given my all.

One thing though, am glad to have support from good friends. Sooo, from 11am to 4pm Friday, send me brain waves!

So exciting to actually be taken seriously for this career... a sorely needed and much welcomed event. I also have rich-people pants that I bought specifically for this, plastic-sealed as to have no hairs from my dear Cleo.

*AND*, now I will have technically visited North Carolina outside the context of SOLAR! My states map is dismal: TN, SC, MD, AL, TX, MS, and GA! Keenan's got me reeling with 26.

Else, Rain called from her cruise-liner Tuesday. She is playing an on-board version of survivor and has made it into the final round(s). She could only talk for 59 seconds, however, cos they charge $7/minute for phone calls. Amazing how phones don't work as well when connecting via satellite as they do on the mainland. Jerks. Regardless, the weather seems to be holding up, and with luck, she'll experience some new and wonderful things.

The solitude this last week has been vital to my concentration. I miss my shmoop (heh) dearly, however.
